Shaking Horror

Wake-up, in bed
pull covers over my head
breaking sounds all around
shaking, rumbling from the ground
It all stops, I think gosh,
what on earth was that
The shakiest most rumbley earthquake,
Christchurch has ever had

Earthquake by Joe

One Saturday morning it was all quiet until BOOM an earthquake hit. Things were falling off shelves and out of cupboards. The noise was unbearable with the shaking. The power went out. We couldn’t see. After shocks rattled the house. This is what an earthquake is like.

Mr Norton's Boulder

Paul sent this photo to me. It is a boulder that rolled down the hill from Castle Rock. It was lucky there had been rain because the mud managed to stop it rolling into Heathcote homes. You can see how big it is when you look at the man sitting on top of it.
