Second Earthquake- Wednesday

Hi Everyone
Wow that one this morning was scary, wasn't it! Thanks for the great poems coming through. I now look forward to opening up my emails. We have 3 poems so far. I wonder if we will get 28 before we meet at school again. Unfortunately we are now behind with our reductive printmaking. I hope we can get an extension on our deadline for the calendar art. We can't rush this type of art. If you are bored you might like to look at some of these activities.

bbc.co.uk- check out the English site. There are many games there that will help you with punctuation, writing sentences etc

Keep the poetry going. Try to create an image in the mind of the reader. Use simile, personification or compare the earthquake to something else.

Practice recalling your times tables quickly. Search for some games to help you.

If you have garageband you could make a soundscape to play when you read your poetry.

If you have powerpoint you could find some images to back your poem. Some programmes allow you to have photos fade in and out with the text in front. Have a play with animating the text. Bring the poem in line for line.

If you have any other ideas please post them in our blog for others to see.
Take care
Sue
