Last week on Thursday

I had my student led confrences.

I was in a group with Felicity, Isabella

and Sunny. At the start we each did a

small bit from our mihi to welcome

our parents then we watched a power

point of all the things we'd been doing

this year. After that we all played a piece

on the mirimba called "Click Stick's".

I really enjoyed showing my mum and

dad my bonded child labour persuasive

writing. Next time I would have liked it

to be a bit longer.

On Thursday last week I did my S.L.C this photo is a photo of us performing marimba.
I enjoyed my S.L.C because I got to share my learning. Our S.L. C went really well and I showed my grandma, who could not come to the wearable arts, our dance.

Student Led Conference

On Thursday the 10th of September, I had my Student
Led Conference. Also in my group were Jack Craig, Sara
h Baken and Sophie Marris. First, we started with a Maori Welcome called a Mihi. Next we presented a powerpoint which showed our parents what we did earlier in the year. My topics I had to talk about were Heroes and Sport. After that, we played a marimba song that we learnt from Mrs. Beauzenburg. Finally we showed
our parents our learning folders, which contained some work that we also did earlier that year.
My favourite part was being alone with my parents and showing them the things we had done. Over all, it was a great chance to amaze our parents with our work.

Sunday 13 September 2009

On Thursday the 10th of September I had my student led conference. I was in a group with Bridget, Emily, Jordyn and Olivia. We stated off with our mihi then we showed an i-movie that we had made as a class. When I did my speaking part and I got really nervous. One of my favourite parts was when we showed our parents our calendar art I was a bit angry when my mum did not give me any suggestions on what back ground I should use for my calendar art. After all of that we shared some marimba that we had learned with Miss B called 'Click Sticks'. My group were fantastic at this as we never missed a key and the parents enjoyed it because they all had big smiles on their faces. I think it would be so cool if the parents had to do it as well.  'I bet you parents want to do it to0?!!'

Student Led Conference

Last Week on Wednesday I had my exiting Student Led Conference with my parents in Village 22.
We welcomed all of the parents with our mihi in a practiced order starting with Oli, then Flynn, Me,  Josh, and Yoon Su. Then we showed our power point to our  parents taking turns to speak
Next we did marimba it was hard and I was thankful we had so much practice!
Next we  spilt of with our own parents and showed them  my Julius Caesar  hero interview  and my learning.
It was fun but nerve-racking  at the same time!
I hope goes  just as well next time!

My favourite part was going off with parents and having time with just them. Next time I would like to make them longer. Personally I enjoyed every moment and can't wait for it to happen again!
Mum did you like my sparkle?

Anna,Student Led Conference

On Thursday the 10 of September I had my Student Led Conference. In my group I had Alice, Ashleigh, Ben, Jack and myself. We started with a Maori welcome I think that we did all right but some people had to use cue cards, then we had a power-point which showed them what we have been doing all year it had things like book club drama and heros. After that we did our marimba, I thought it was really bad because we were out time. Next we showed our parents our learning report. I think it should have been a bit longer but over all it was a good night.

Student Led Conference

On Thursday last week my group performed the opening part of my student led conference in Village 22. Student led conferences are all about us sharing what we have been doing in the term with our mum and dad. First we welcomed our parents with our Mihi (a maori welcome ), a slide show and finally a piece of marimba. Maybe next time we could get our parents up the front and get them to play a bit of marimba. I really enjoyed the student led conference because I had time with mum and dad by myself. I hope we have as much fun next time in year 6.

On Wednesday the 9th of September, I did my student Led Conference to my mum. Before we started the conference I started showing my favourite piece of work, the persuasive letter about the carpet factories. At the start of the conference my group and I delivered my mihi to the parents and viewers, I was last delivering the mihi. Then we shared some of our term's highlights. My favourite  was science. After we shared our highlights we played a marimba piece called 'click those sticks'. Then we broke up into individual groups with our parents to show them our favourite writing, maths test etc. I showed my mum my multiplication test and my sparkle. I enjoyed playing the marimba piece but next time I would like to make the conference longer.

Student Led Conference

The other day Student Led Conferences were held at Fendalton school.
I got put in a group with Sunny, Harry and Isabella, we all said our mihi and played the marimba. After this we showed a power point
about all our highlights this term, then we split up with our parents
to share with them our wonderful work. The highlight for me in
all of this was going off with my mummy and showing all my work in my student led conference file. A good idea for next time is to make the parents get up there and play the marimba, but over all this was
a fantastic night with my mum alone. Did you enjoy my hero interview ?

Then when we had a bit of time we showed the amazing cool stuf that we had done in village 22.
But I personally think that we did really good and I look forward to doing it next year.

Student Led Conference

Last week on Wednesday I had my student led conference. We started off with a wonderful welcome by saying our mihi to our parents, brothers and sisters. Then we showed them our power point. Then we split off with our parents and showed them our work from this year. My favourite part would be telling my dad where to go and talking to him about my work without my annoying brothers and sister. I think it would be better if the parents joined in and maybe they could next time.

Talking with the parents

Last week I had my student led conference.Everyone in the school had there student led conferences in there classrooms. I was in a group with Ashleigh, Anna, Alice, Ben and myself. I enjoyed my conference with my parents but I think I could of remember part for the presenting at start better.

Last week I was amazed and impressed by how confident the children in Village 22 were when they presented their group performance at their conferences.
